SolarDialer

SolarDialer for Close

Connect your Close organization: leads that reach a status you pick are called by SolarDialer's AI agent within minutes, interested leads are transferred live to your closer, and every call is logged on the lead with its recording, summary and transcript.

You need a SolarDialer account, and a Close user in the organization you connect.

Call leads by status

Choose a lead status (or "any new lead") and a campaign: each lead that reaches that status, or is made in it, joins the campaign, called on its schedule, always within the lead's legal calling hours.

Every call on the lead

Each call is logged as a call activity with its status, length and recording to play in Close, and the AI summary, answers and transcript as its note.

Interested leads become opportunities

Pick a pipeline status and each interested lead gets an opportunity there, moved to your transfer status when they are put through to your closer. Callbacks become tasks, due when the lead asked.

Fields for your Smart Views

SD Outcome, SD Last Call, SD Recording, SD Interested, SD Callback and SD Do Not Call are set on the lead, so your Smart Views and workflows can act on them.

Set up in 3 steps

  1. ConnectSign in to SolarDialer, open Account → Integrations and click Connect Close. Pick the organization and allow access.
  2. Choose who is calledOn the same page, add a rule: a lead status (or any new lead) and the campaign those leads join. Add as many rules as you like.
  3. Choose where interested leads goPick the pipeline status for interested leads' opportunities, and optionally one for transferred ones. Leave it empty for no opportunities.

What SolarDialer reads and writes in Close

Close dataWhat SolarDialer does with it
Leads and contactsReads the lead a rule picks (its contact's name, phone and email, and its address), to call them. Finds (by phone or email) or creates the lead for a call that reached someone, and sets the SolarDialer fields on it.
Lead statuses, pipelinesReads them for the pickers on your Integrations page.
Custom fieldsCreates the six SolarDialer lead fields once.
Calls and tasksLogs each call as a call activity, and a task for each callback booked.
OpportunitiesCreates or moves an opportunity for an interested lead, only if you picked a status.
WebhooksCreates one subscription while you have rules (new leads, lead status changes), and deletes it when you remove them or disconnect.

People are called only within each state's calling hours, never when they are on your do-not-call list or asked not to be called, and at most the attempts your campaign allows. Your Close data is used only to place and report your calls; see our privacy policy and terms.

Disconnecting

Click Disconnect Close on Account → Integrations, or remove SolarDialer in Close (Settings → Developer → OAuth Apps). Results stop going to Close at once; the leads and calls already in SolarDialer stay in your account until you delete them, and nothing is removed from Close. To have your SolarDialer data deleted, email info@solardialer.net.

Full setup guide

Everything you need to set it up and keep it running. Stuck? Email info@solardialer.net.

Before you start

  • A SolarDialer account with at least one campaign that isn't finished. Leads are called once your account is approved and the campaign is running (new campaigns start Paused).
  • A Close user in the organization you connect. For SolarDialer to make its six lead fields, the user's role needs the right to create custom fields.
  • Leads with a contact that has a name and a phone number. SolarDialer reads the lead's address too: a US lead's state (or ZIP, or its phone's area code) sets its calling hours.

Step by step

  1. Connect CloseLog in to SolarDialer and open Account → Integrations. Under Connect, click Connect Close.
  2. Allow access in ClosePick your Close organization and allow access. You come back with "Close connected (your organization). Call results now go to your Close leads."
  3. Add a ruleUnder Your CRM, in Leads to call, pick Leads that reach the status (a lead status, or Any new lead) and the Campaign they join. Click Add rule.
  4. Add more rules if you likeUp to 20 rules, one per status. Each shows as "Leads reaching ... → campaign" with a Remove button.
  5. Choose where interested leads go (optional)Pick an opportunity status in Interested leads go to (an opportunity at this status), and optionally one in Transferred leads go to (optional, same pipeline). Click Save. Leave it on No pipeline for no opportunities.
  6. Test itIn Close, make a lead whose contact has your own phone number, in the rule's status (or move a lead to it). Within a minute or two it appears in SolarDialer under Leads, in the rule's campaign. After the call, open the lead in Close: the call is in its activity and the SD fields are filled in.

Settings, explained

Leads that reach the status
A lead joins the campaign when it is made in this status or moved to it. Leads already in the status when you add the rule aren't added until they move to it again.
Leads that reach the status: Any new lead
Every lead made in Close from then on joins the campaign, whatever its status.
Campaign
The SolarDialer campaign the matching leads join, called on its schedule within each lead's legal calling hours.
Interested leads go to (an opportunity at this status)
Each interested lead gets an opportunity at this status, unless it already has an active one in that pipeline. No pipeline means no opportunities.
Transferred leads go to (optional, same pipeline)
When the transfer to your closer connects, the opportunity goes to this status instead (an active one is moved there).

What it reads and writes

Read from Close
For a lead a rule picks: the name, phone and email of its first contact with a phone, and the lead's first address. Your lead statuses and pipelines, for the pickers.
Calls
Each call is logged on the lead as a call activity: direction, status (completed, no answer, busy or failed), length, the number called, the recording to play in Close, and as its note the outcome, AI summary, answers, objections, transcript and links to the recording and the call in SolarDialer. Calls belong to the user who connected.
Lead fields
Six text custom fields, made once: SD Outcome, SD Last Call (date and time in UTC), SD Recording (a link that plays without a login), SD Interested (Yes), SD Callback (when the lead asked to be called) and SD Do Not Call (Yes).
Tasks
Each callback booked becomes a task, due at the time the lead asked, assigned to the user who connected, saying who calls back: SolarDialer's agent or the advisor.
Opportunities
An opportunity is made or moved for an interested lead, only if you picked a status.
Webhook
While you have rules, SolarDialer keeps one webhook subscription in Close (new leads, lead status changes), and deletes it when you remove the last rule or disconnect.
Which calls reach Close
Every call your SolarDialer account makes from the moment you connect, not only leads from Close; earlier calls are never sent. A Close lead is found (by its contact's phone, then email) or made only for a call that reached someone, an interested lead or a callback. Unanswered calls and do-not-call requests only update a lead SolarDialer already linked.

Troubleshooting

"Close wasn't connected: access wasn't granted."

Access was refused or the page closed. Click Connect Close again and allow access.

"That Close link has expired. Connect again from here."

More than 15 minutes passed on Close's page. Click Connect Close again.

"Log in to the account that started connecting Close."

You came back from Close logged in to another SolarDialer account, or logged out. Log in to the account you started from and connect again.

"...connected to another SolarDialer account"

A Close organization can be linked to one SolarDialer account only. Disconnect it there first.

"Your Close lead statuses couldn't be read just now; reload to add a rule."

Close didn't answer in time. Reload the page.

"Close didn't accept our webhook. Try again in a minute."

The rule is saved but Close refused the webhook. Wait a minute, then remove the rule and add it again.

"That status wasn't found in Close. Reload and pick again."

The status was renamed or deleted in Close after the page loaded.

"There's a rule for that already; remove it first."

Each status (or Any new lead) can have one rule. Remove the old rule to send those leads to another campaign.

A lead in the status didn't show up in SolarDialer

The lead must be made in the status or moved to it after the rule was added. Its contact also needs a name and a valid phone, and that number must not already be a different lead in your SolarDialer account. A lead already called through SolarDialer isn't added twice.

Leads arrive in SolarDialer but aren't called

Check that the campaign is running (press Resume: new campaigns start Paused), that your account is approved and has balance, and that it's within the lead's calling hours.

The SD fields are missing on leads

Close refused to make them, usually because the connecting user's role can't create custom fields. Calls are still logged without them.

The connection shows Disconnected with "SolarDialer's access was removed in Close. Connect again."

SolarDialer's access was removed in Close. Click Connect Close; your rules come back with it.

"Last problem sending results: ..." under Your CRM

Close refused or didn't answer a write. Results wait and are tried again after 1, 5 and 30 minutes, then 2 and 12 hours.

"The Close app isn't set up on our side yet."

The connection is turned off on SolarDialer's side. Email info@solardialer.net.

FAQ

Are all my Close leads called once I connect?

No. Only leads your rules pick, from the moment you add each rule.

Do leads I upload to SolarDialer show in Close too?

Yes, once they are called: a call that reached someone, an interested lead or a callback finds the Close lead by phone or email, or makes one with a contact.

Can a lead SolarDialer made be called again by an Any new lead rule?

No. A lead already linked to a SolarDialer lead is never added again.

Does SolarDialer read Close's do-not-call settings?

No. Keep such leads out of your rule's statuses, or open the lead in SolarDialer and click Mark do not call. When someone asks the agent not to be called, SD Do Not Call is set on their Close lead.

Can my Smart Views use call results?

Yes. Filter on the SD fields, for example every lead with SD Interested set to Yes.

What does it cost?

The Close connection is free. Calls are billed by the minute from your SolarDialer balance, with $2 of free calls every month.

Disconnect

  • On Account → Integrations, click Disconnect Close under Your CRM and confirm. SolarDialer deletes its webhook in Close and revokes its access.
  • Or remove SolarDialer in Close under Settings → Developer → OAuth Apps.
  • Results stop going to Close at once. Your leads and calls stay in SolarDialer, and nothing is removed from Close. To have your SolarDialer data deleted, email info@solardialer.net.

Pay only when we're talking to someone

22¢ a minute while on a call, or 14¢ with your own phone line. Calls nobody answers are free, and the first $2 of calls every month are on us. The Close connection itself costs nothing.

No monthly fee, no minimum. See pricing
